I’m a culturally responsive educator, qualitative researcher, and former professor with 20+ years of experience studying how culture shapes learning, identity, and growth. My work has always centered on human stories—grounded in research, lived experience, and the belief that education can transform how we see ourselves, each other, and our community. Today, I bring that same lens to media as the host and producer of Courage Class, a storytelling platform amplifying AANHPI voices. On the podcast, I interview cultural trailblazers and creatives about identity, healing, cultural expectations, and emotional well-being. Together, we name the realities of living between cultures and create honest conversations that redefine wellness, storytelling, and success for our communities. Beyond the podcast, I’m exploring new media formats to continue elevating AANHPI stories that mainstream narratives often overlook. My mission is to merge the rigor of research with the power of storytelling—building spaces where AANHPI narratives are seen, heard, and celebrated. In my former work, I am the founder of a problem-based/leadership curriculum, Lead-To-Learn© with over 20 years of experience in K12 education as a teacher, administrator and professor of education. I've trained teachers around the world to implement the skills and strategies embedded into problem-based learning.
