About Me
Michelle is a born and raised Vancouverite - medical science student turned social entrepreneur. She co-founded FLIK (weareflik.com), a female-focused platform & community hub connecting female founders/leaders and ambitious female students via meaningful apprenticeships. Beginning her career in medical sciences and initially volunteering her time to advance neuroimaging and pediatric gastroenterology research, Michelle has always had a passion for impact. When selected to Next 36, Canada's premier program for young entrepreneurs, she discovered her niche at the intersection of technology and impact, realizing the gender disparity in entrepreneurship. Since Next 36, Michelle has grown FLIK to over 4400 womxn in 45+ countries and continues to push her vision to accelerate womxn-led ventures globally.
Michelle has had the honour of speaking at universities and spaces across North America sharing her thoughts on entrepreneurship, womxn empowerment, diversity and inclusion, and breaking down barriers. She now serves on the alumni advisory council of League of Innovators and as an alumni representative for Next 36 where she works to accelerate more youth entrepreneurs. She has been recognized as a Top 20 Women entrepreneur to watch in 2020 and YWCA’s Young Woman of Distinction in 2020. In her spare time, Michelle loves to play sports (especially basketball), run half marathons (recent happening), go to spin / boxing classes with her friends, try out innovative food, and connect with others around her!
