I’m a brand strategist and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience driving growth across Fortune 100 companies, startups, and my own venture-backed brand. At Kraft Foods, I led brand strategy, innovation, and full P&L ownership for iconic brands including A.1. and Grey Poupon (a combined $180M+ in annual retail revenue). I also owned the $68M+ marketing budget for Capri Sun, a $1B+ brand, overseeing national advertising, innovation planning, and cross-functional execution across marketing, R&D, finance, and sales. As Founder and CEO of BlackTravelBox®, I created a multicultural personal care brand designed for travelers of color. I scaled the business to six-figure revenue through organic marketing, earned placement at luxury wellness destinations like Miraval Resort, and was featured in Condé Nast Traveler, Essence, and Beyoncé.com. I also built a community of 48K+ social followers and was recognized as a finalist at the TFWA Global Travel Retail Awards. I previously served as Head of Coaching Products at IFundWomen, where I led curriculum design and coached over 100 women founders across branding, pricing, and fundraising. I also designed and delivered branded accelerator programs for enterprise partners including Caress and Angel City Football Club. Currently, I serve as Fractional CMO at Switchback Foods, a functional food startup focused on green smoothies. I’m developing their brand strategy and marketing foundation to support a successful go-to-market launch in the wellness space.

I am proud to say, as the nation’s largest nonprofit private scholarship organization, Scholarship America is 100% student focused. On behalf of students everywhere, we serve as a scholarship resource, guiding advocate, and driving force for student success. We believe in the power of a scholarship, and we believe in providing support beyond a scholarship, to help students persist and complete college with less debt. We are also advocates for students, currently working to raise awareness of aid displacement and scholarship taxability—we are committed to ensuring that students receive the full benefit of the scholarships they earn to help make their dreams possible. - Robert C. Ballard, President & CEO, Scholarship America
Rated as one of the top charities in education, Scholarship America works directly with students, parents, colleges, businesses and communities to help students fulfill their college dreams. "Right now, there's a level of false empathy that we exude as people. But if I sit here and talk with you and you tell me about intimate stories about what's going on in your home and how that's affecting you, it becomes different. " - Jo'rell
